At this point, the future of Drew Lock with the Denver Broncos is anything but certain. The general belief is that the 25-year-old will not be the Broncos' starting quarterback next year with Denver likely to acquire a new QB during the offseason.

New Broncos offensive coordinator Justin Outten has spoken out about the organization's current outlook on Lock's situation with the team. Unsurprisingly, Outten did not provide a clear cut statement on Lock's future in Denver, but it does sound like the former Missouri standout will get his chance:

“He’s got a powerful arm, he’s done a really good job as far as using his legs as far as being an athlete,” Outten said, via Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com. “… I want to see how he fits in this system a little more when he gets the playbook under him and we’ll go from there.”

This seems to translate to Outten giving Lock an opportunity to prove himself in the coming months. The odds might be stacked against him, but at the very least, it is clear that Lock has the chance to stake his claim for Denver's QB1 spot for 2022. He didn't exactly make waves as the Broncos' starting QB towards the end of last season, though, so Drew Lock definitely has his work cut out for him.
