The Denver Broncos continue to remain active as the NFL offseason progresses. While this time bolstering the team's defense, the Broncos have retained linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu.

According to a Monday evening report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, Attaochu and the Broncos agreed to a one-year contract. However, the financial terms of the newly inked pact have yet to be reported.

The 27-year-old Attaochu was originally selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech. After spending a few years with the Chargers, Attaochu then moved on to the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs before landing with the Broncos last season.

The highlight of Attaochu's first go-round in Denver came in Week 14 against the Houston Texans. In addition to sacking Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson twice, the journeyman linebacker also caused a fumble that was returned 70 yards for a touchdown by a Broncos defensive back.

The Broncos need all the help they can get on defense. Denver will be forced to put up with the defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs in the AFC West. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and company are not going anywhere anytime soon. Which means the Broncos will need to focus on slowing down the league's best offense in 2020.

It is also worth noting that both the Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders will be pesky next season as well.
