New Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco is already getting the rebranding treatment from his teammates.

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders calls Flacco “Pretty Boy Flacco,” explaining that the Super Bowl MVP, 34, is “just very thoughtful of how he moves.”

The Broncos acquired Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens in February in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Flacco spent the entirety of his 11-year professional football career with the Ravens, winning Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 after a college career at Pittsburgh and later Delaware.

That's not the only moniker Flacco is getting ascribed in practice, however. “Papa Joe” is the nickname assigned by left tackle Garrett Bolles.

Via BroncosWire in USA Today Sports:

“If you’ve got five kids and you’re — I don’t know, 35? — I don’t know how old he is, but I’ve got to call him ‘Papa Joe,'” Bolles said Thursday. “I’m a young guy, so he’s like the dad of the team so I have to mess with him a little bit.”

Flacco lost his starting quarterback gig in Baltimore during the 2018 season to Heisman winner Lamar Jackson, selected by the Ravens with the final pick in last year's draft. After Flacco went down with a hip injury in Week 9, Jackson took the reins of the offense, leading the Ravens to a 6-1 record. Baltimore eventually lost their Wild Card matchup to the Los Angeles Chargers.

After that, the Ravens decided to go in a new direction with Jackson at the helm by moving Flacco, their former Super Bowl–winning QB.
