The latest positive COVID-19 case from the New England Patriots camp has put their supposed Week 5 matchup against the Denver Broncos in jeopardy. In response to the matter, the league has decided to adjust the Broncos' schedule for the coming weeks, posted by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Twitter.

Denver will have an early bye week in Week 5, while their matchup against the Patriots will be moved to next Sunday, October 18. The team will now play on their original bye week in a Week 8 encounter against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Miami Dolphins will also be affected as their Week 6 game against the Broncos will now be moved to Week 11 instead.

The Tennessee Titans' Week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills was moved from Sunday to next Tuesday following the emergence of another positive COVID-19 case from their team. The widespread reaction being experienced by the league today originated from the sudden outbreak that came from the Titans' camp after their Week 3 encounter against the Minnesota Vikings.

According to ESPN, there were only 58 positive tests composed of 20 players and 38 other team personnel among more than 330,000 NFL tests administered between August 1 and September 26. Meanwhile, there were 26 positives with 11 players and 15 team personnel between September 27 and October 3 — to which the bulk of those cases came from Tennessee.

Other teams in the Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears have all sustained at least a positive COVID-19 case from their respective camps.

Hopefully, the NFL will be able to make the necessary adjustments to control the ongoing widespread among the different teams and avoid a dreaded forced shutdown of the league.
