Drew Lock is gearing up for a quarterback competition with Teddy Bridgewater to see who will man the helm for the Denver Broncos. Much like a Final Fantasy character, the young gunslinger is looking at this competition as a way to level himself up.

“I’m here to compete and do everything you can to be the best quarterback for this team,” Broncos QB Drew Lock said during his press conference, via PFT. “That is the mindset that I have right now. It’s going to be fun. I’m excited to be able to go out there and have this competition, push myself to whole different level that maybe I wouldn’t have gotten to without this.”

After the Denver Broncos snagged Teddy Bridgewater, but also declined to take a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft, it's clear that Vic Fangio and company believe one of these two guys should be able to — at the very least — game-manage the team in a bit of a better direction moving forward.

With the franchise now having a billion good defensive backs, elite offensive players on the outside, it's a giant gamble to bet the house on these two gunslingers. In a perfect world, though, Drew Lock does level-up like a Final Fantasy character and becomes the cornerstone piece the Broncos desperately need behind center.
