Drew Lock is making a name for himself as the Denver Broncos are up big against the Houston Texans on Sunday. According to Patrick Smyth, Lock is the first rookie in NFL history to have 300 passing yards and three touchdowns in his first road start.

Last week, Lock made his NFL debut for the Broncos against the Los Angeles Chargers. The rookie delivered with 134 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in his first career start.

Now, this week, Drew Lock is torching the Texans' defense through the air. As this article is being written, Lock has completed 22 of his 26 attempts for 309 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.

This is exactly what John Elway had in mind when the Broncos selected Lock with the 42nd overall pick in this year's draft. However, there is no one who expected the rookie out of Missouri to come out swinging as he has these past two weeks.

Upon the selection of Lock, the Broncos had a plan for him to develop behind Joe Flacco for the season. Unfortunately, during the preseason, Lock suffered a thumb injury that caused him to be placed on injured reserve.

As a result, Lock missed the first 12 weeks of the season as he rehabbed his thumb injury. But last week, he finally got a chance to prove himself in front of the Mile High crowd.

Under new head coach Vic Fangio, there are some question marks surrounding the future of the franchise. As long as Lock continues to show promise, the fans in Denver will have something to look forward to.
