University of Missouri quarterback Drew Lock may have fallen to the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft late last month, but during the pre-draft process, there were some who felt he should be the second signal-caller off the board.

Of course, three other quarterbacks ended up going before him. Lock eventually fell into the waiting arms of the Denver Broncos at No. 42, but he could end up being a steal for a Broncos team in desperate need of a franchise quarterback.

Lock did a very solid job of taking care of the football during his senior campaign at Missouri, and Pro Football Focus highlights that point with this stat:

Overall in 2018, Drew Lock threw for 3,498 yards, 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 62.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 147.7.

He arrived at Missouri back in 2015, but he did not become the Tigers' full-time starter until 2016, when he finished with 3,399 yards, 23 touchdowns and 10 picks while completing 54.6 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 133.3.

Then, the following year, Drew Lock had his best collegiate season, throwing for 3,964 yards, 44 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, recording a completion percentage of 57.8 percent and a passer rating of 165.7.

Lock will likely not be Denver's starter going into 2019, since the Broncos seem committed to Joe Flacco as their No. 1 quarterback at the moment, but if Flacco struggles or if Denver falls out of playoff contention early (both of which are distinct possibilities), Lock could make an appearance under center during his rookie season.
