Despite earlier reports indicating that he would be unable to play, Denver quarterback Drew Lock will be the in the starting lineup tomorrow against the Miami Dolphins, according to a source from Broncos' beat reporter Mike Klis.

Though he was listed as questionable throughout the week, Lock was not expected to play in Sunday's match following a rib injury sustained last week against the Raiders. Have previously experienced muscle strains, the second-year passer was visibly hobbled against Las Vegas in the team's 37-12 blowout.

While his presence under center will allow Denver to avoid having to use backup Brett Rypien, Lock's performance thus far, has provided little comfort to the franchise. Long in search of stability at the quarterback position following the retirement of Peyton Manning earlier in the decade, the team drafted Lock in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, hoping that the strong arm he displayed at the University of Missouri would translate to success in the pros.

Unfortunately for the Broncos, his inability to complete passes has mitigated any success he has had stretching the field.

Completing a poor 55 percent of his check downs, Lock has thrown 10 interceptions—against only seven touchdowns—while pacing the Broncos to a 2-5 record.

To make matters worse, the injured sophomore quarterback will be forced to go up against a Miami defense that has proven stifling for opposing play callers this year. Successful in pressuring the quarterback with their front seven, the Dolphins secondary has excelled in harnessing those opportunities, picking off over two passes per game. With Lock already struggling to maintain possession under the best of circumstances, a bruised rib cage and an aggressive defense seems like the last thing he and the Broncos need.
