The Denver Broncos turned heads at the 2020 NFL Draft by selecting a pair of wide receivers in back-to-back opening rounds on Thursday and Friday.

Denver picked Alabama wideout Jerry Jeudy, after the college star dropped a bit in the draft, with the 15th overall selection on Thursday. Then, on Friday, the Broncos took Penn State receiver KJ Hamler with the 14th pick in the second round (46th overall).

Suffice to say rising sophomore quarterback Drew Lock is happy with the wide receivers corps upgrades the Broncos made early in the 2020 draft. Lock, 23, reacted to the AFC West club's bold draft moves with a simple emoji he shared on social media on Friday night.

Lock, selected by the Broncos in last year's draft with the 42nd overall pick out of Missouri, stepped up into the franchise's future starting-quarterback role after injuries brought him into the spotlight perhaps earlier than anticipated by the club. In five games during his rookie season with the Broncos, Lock threw for 1,020 passing yards with a 64.1 completion percentage, connecting on seven touchdowns along with three interceptions. More importantly, Lock won four of his five contests as a rookie starter, impressing the team and fans.

The Broncos returned the favor by scooping up two top college receivers to play catch with in the Mile High City.
