Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is questionable for this weekend's matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Lock suffered a rib injury in Sunday's loss by the Broncos to the Las Vegas Raiders, and it is unknown whether he can play against Miami.

Lock has been banged up all year. He suffered a shoulder injury in a Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, forcing him out of the team's next two games. Now, it appears Lock is facing his third “Inactive” of the year.

The former second-round pick has had a nightmare year even when healthy. Broncos general manager looked to give his young quarterback options by drafting Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler, respectively, in the first two rounds of this past April's NFL draft. Both have looked explosive at times, though neither has mitigated Lock's individual struggles.

The 24-year-old is completing just over 55 percent of his pass attempts for the Broncos, and has thrown just seven touchdowns against 10 interceptions while going 2-5 as the starter this year.

Lock was especially bad against the Raiders. He completed just 23 of 47 pass attempts for 257 yards while tossing four interceptions. It marked the fifth straight game with an interception, though Lock's 37.3 quarterback rating was only his second-worst of the 2020 season.

Despite Lock's struggles, however, Broncos head coach Vic Fangio recently indicated his status as the starter was secure:

“He's at the point where he's watched a lot,” Fangio said, per Broncos beat reporter Aric DiLalla. “He's at the point where he's got to play.”

However, Lock might not be able to play for the Broncos this weekend due to the rib injury.

Jeff Driskel or Brett Rypien are candidates to play in the event Lock is forced out for the Week 11 Broncos game with the Dolphins.
