The Denver Broncos kicked off rookie minicamp on Friday and all eyes were on the teams newest quarterback Drew Lock who many believe will be the quarterback of the future of the team.

There isn't a lot that can be taken out of rookie minicamp because it's mostly just playing pass and catch. One thing though was evident through the first 30 minutes of practice, Drew Lock has a huge arm. Lock said after practice his arm felt really good and he gives a lot of credit to his quarterback coach for that.

“My arm is definitely in good shape,” Lock said via 9news.com. “It’s been weird. When I take a break and come back and throw, my arm will hurt. But if I constantly throw, I’ll stay in good shape for a long time, so that’s what I was doing when I was back home, throwing with my quarterback coach Justin Hoover and getting me ready to come out here. It feels pretty fresh right now.”

The one thing offensive lineman Dalton Risner took out of the practice was just how well Lock had control over the huddle. Risner knows just from one day of practice that Lock isn't going to be a quarterback that is hesitant or gets shy.

“You would never know it was Day 1 for him,” said Dalton Risner, who played with the No. 1 rookie minicamp offense at left guard. “Of course, he has things to work on like everyone does out there but that’s something Drew brings to the table. He’s not a quarterback who is going to be hesitant.”

It's going to be hard for Broncos fans to not read into this too much but it looks like the Broncos may have gotten themselves something special.
