Denver Broncos' emergency quarterback in Kendall Hinton was suddenly brought to the limelight after he went from a practice squad wide receiver to become the team's starting playmaker in a matter of days. As per Vin Masi of ESPN's Stats and Information, Hinton has thrown a touchdown pass more recently than the New Orleans Saints' backup quarterback in Taysom Hill.

Hinton primarily played the quarterback position during his time at Wake Forest. He eventually made a complete transition to become a wide receiver in his final season with the team where he produced 1,001 yards on 73 receptions and four touchdowns. Despite the respectable performance as a wideout, he still went undrafted when he attempted to make the jump to the big leagues.

On the opposite end of the field, the Saints are also slotting in a backup gunslinger after QB1 Drew Brees suffered a collapsed lung and multiple rib fractures that will force him to remain on the sidelines for a couple of games.

Taysom Hill made a name for himself as the quarterback for the BYU Cougars where he exhausted his collegiate eligibility. He went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft but has found a home in New Orleans after he was claimed off waivers by the Saints.

The 30-year-old Hill possessed a team-first mentality since the day he arrived on the team, willingly playing in positions on the field that head coach Sean Payton would require him to. His perseverance and patience eventually paid off as he was chosen as the temporary starter over their other playmaker in Jameis Winston who was the NFL's passing yards leader in 2019.

Regardless of their statistics during their college years, both players will aim to focus on the present and help their respective teams snag much-needed wins in Week 12 action.
