It's still unclear whether or not Emmanuel Sanders will be ready for training camp. Even so, the Denver Broncos' wide receiver remains extremely confident of his place in both the locker room and the league's individual hierarchy with the 2019 season fast approaching.

On Tuesday, Sanders told Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic that though he's uncertain about his status for the beginning of training camp, he still believes he's capable of re-establishing himself as one of the league's best wide receivers.

Sanders suffered a torn Achilles tendon on December 5th during practice. The Broncos immediately confirmed he was done for the remainder of the season, placing the 32-year-old on injured reserve. He's spent a lot of time at team facilities this offseason despite not being cleared for any training or on-field work with his teammates.

Last week, Sanders posted a video on Instagram of himself running hard-cutting routes at full speed. Earlier in May, he began sprinting at full capacity and making aggressive lateral movements, evidence his recovery is ahead of schedule.

Sanders, 32, signed a three-year, $15 million deal with the Broncos in 2014 after beginning his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He quickly emerged one of the most reliable pass-catchers in football in the interim, signing a three-year, $33 million extension in 2016 to remain with Denver through the 2019 season. Last year, Sanders caught 71 passes for 868 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games played.

Denver is counting on Sanders to lead an inexperienced group of receivers. Rising second-year pro Courtland Sutton figures to take a big step forward this season, and will need to to make life easier on new starting quarterback Joe Flacco, especially if Sanders takes time to re-acclimate to the speed of the game in wake of his injury.
