Emmanuel Sanders doesn’t blame his teammate, Chris Harris Jr., for sitting out part of the offseason program before getting an adjustment to his contract. Harris returned to organized team activities after the team restructured the pay for the final year of his deal, but not before the holdout turned ugly at times and with plenty of trade speculation.

In fact, Sanders said he “more than likely” would have been in a similar situation had he not torn his Achilles late last season.

“I probably would have wanted a deal,” Sanders said Wednesday on 104.3 The Fan, via Nicki Jhabvala of TheAthletic.com.

Sanders, 32, is set to make $10.15 million in base salary in the final year of his deal. So 2019 is a pivotal season for Sanders.

Sanders has been one of the more productive receivers in the league during his time in Denver, despite the Broncos fielding some less-than-competent quarterbacks in the years since Peyton Manning retired. The recent injury hasn't done anything to dull his confidence.

It’s clear that when the two-time Pro Bowler does return to the field, he still expects to make a big impact for his team.

I want to go to the Pro Bowl,” Sanders said via the team's website. “I want to get back in the [NFL] Top 100. I still feel like I’m one of the best receivers in the NFL right now. I work like it, so therefore I’m going to feel like it. I want to get back in the playoffs and I want to make a Super Bowl.”
