Former San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello is now the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos. As a result, current 49ers and former Iowa Hawkeyes tight end George Kittle is excited for tight end Noah Fant to get rolling under the direction of Scangarello.

Of course, Kittle and Fant were previously teammates during their collegiate playing days at Iowa with the latter recently coming off the board to the Broncos in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

“Noah is going to absolutely love playing for him,” Kittle recently told Ryan O'Halloran of the Denver Post. “Scans has a lot of tricks up his sleeve and I think he sees things a lot of people don't. Noah is going to fit right in with that offense quickly and he won't have too much of a learning curve. He's going to come in running.”

With Fant yet to play a down of NFL football, Kittle burst on the scene last season, becoming one of the best tight ends in the league. With Fant slated to follow in Kittle's footsteps, the up-and-coming Broncos pass catcher will look to make an immediate impact in Denver come 2019.

“Pass-catching tight end with the length, acceleration and speed to create matchup challenges both short and long,” reads Fant's 2019 NFL Draft profile on NFL.com. “Fant is at his best in open space and on the move as his catch-focus appears to wane when coverage crowds him or he hears footsteps. He needs to get stronger and more competitive at the point of attack to help a run game, but if that never happens, his ability to uncover and hit big plays will still make him a coveted prize for teams ready to add a move tight end as their new matchup toy.”

Even so, it won't be easy for Denver to rebound; the AFC West has quickly become one of the better divisions in the NFL.
