The Denver Broncos have officially hired former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their next head coach, which means the Aaron Rodgers-to-Denver rumors are swirling at an all-time high.

On Friday, Broncos GM George Paton was literally set up for possible tampering by a wild question from a reporter, but he answered in perfect fashion.

Via Aric DiLalla:

Whether Paton had those intentions or not, he can't say it. But, there is certainly a belief that Rodgers could follow his OC to the Mile High City, alongside wideout Davante Adams.

Rodgers even hinted at the possibility of joining Hackett wherever he lands next way back in November when discussing the impact he had on their offense:

“Hack’ has been a really important part of our culture change,” Rodgers said back on November 11. “And a part of our success on offense. I love him. I hope he doesn’t go anywhere… Unless I do.”

The Broncos undoubtedly need a QB1 and Rodgers' time with the Packers hasn't gone to plan lately. He almost left the franchise last offseason then failed to live up to Super Bowl expectations in 2021 as they were bounced in the Divisional Round last weekend by the San Francisco 49ers.

The writing is on the wall. But, we'll see if Hackett will actually play any role in reeling Rodgers into his new team.
