Joe Flacco is beginning a new journey with the Denver Broncos, and at 34 years old, most feel that he is over the hill and is no longer capable of having the type of run he did back during the 2012-13 campaign when he led the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl title.

But don't tell that to Flacco.

Broncos center Connor McGovern says that Flacco still has an incredible amount of confidence, going as far to say that the veteran still believes he is an MVP-caliber quarterback:

“A lot of the quarterbacks have had a lot of great confidence, but Flacco’s confidence is the best there is,” McGovern said, according to Mike Klis of 9 News. “In his mind — and it should be every Broncos players’ mind — he is the good man for the job. He’s an MVP quarterback. He’s a won a Super Bowl. He’s been MVP. He knows what it takes to win at a high level. I think that is the difference.”

Flacco lost his job as the Ravens' starting quarterback midway through the 2018 campaign as a result of a hip injury. Rookie signal-caller Lamar Jackson then stepped in and held on to the starting job, signaling Flacco's exit.

McGovern added that he thinks Flacco will be a difference-maker for Denver because the team's most recent quarterbacks did not have the type of confidence that Flacco possesses.

Flacco originally entered the league as a first-round pick of Baltimore's all the way back in 2008 and immediately assumed the starting quarterback role for the Ravens.
