Denver Broncos general manager John Elway seems to be fine with Case Keenum being the team's starting quarterback at this point.

The Broncos are in the middle of some major changes within the franchise, as Elway and company chose to fire former head coach Vance Joseph on Monday.

Joseph went 11-21 overall in his two seasons on the job, which included going 6-10 this year after the team lost its final four games of the regular season.

So, when Elway was asked about other potential changes – most notably Keenum's situation – he offered a nice bit of support for his current quarterback.

Of course, it's also worth noting the part about Mike Shanahan, as it makes sense that some would wonder whether the former Broncos coach would be in the mix due to the connection with Elway.

However, in the case of Keenum (no pun intended), there is obviously a lot that could happen to cause Elway to change his mind. With a new coaching staff on the way in, it's possible that they would want to go in another direction under center.

Keenum threw for 3,890 yards and 18 touchdowns this season but had just an 81.2 quarterback rating due to throwing 15 interceptions on the year.

Losing star wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders late in the season didn't help matters, and it's clear that Keenum can be somewhat inconsistent at times.

That's why Denver fans will likely have their eye on the quarterback situation and the coaching change moving forward, as both will decide how quickly this franchise can get back on track.
