Denver Broncos defensive back Kareem Jackson has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

Jackson becomes the second Broncos player to test positive after Von Miller contracted the virus earlier this spring. He is expected to make a full recovery, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Broncos beat reporter Mike Klis asked Jackson whether he believed the positive test stemmed from a protest march he attended two weeks ago. But according to Jackson's doctor, he likely picked it up this weekend.

Most NFL players and coaches avoided the first surge of cases, but more and more NFL personnel are becoming susceptible.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was among a group of Cowboys players who tested positive. A number of Houston Texans players also reportedly contracted the virus.

For their part, the Broncos will wish Jackson a speedy recovery.

Jackson was an indispensable member of Denver's secondary after coming over from the Houston Texans last season. In 13 games, Jackson tallied a pair of interceptions and 71 tackles to go along with 10 passes defended. He excels in coverage, and his speed makes him a threat to take the ball back the other way at any given time.

The Broncos focused their draft efforts on surrounding quarterback Drew Lock with weapons. But John Elway also used the offseason to solidify the defense.

Elway acquired Jurrell Casey to stuff the middle, while also making a move for A.J. Bouye, who will join Jackson in the secondary.

The Broncos will hope to contend for a playoff spot in 2020. For now, however, the health and safety of their players–notably Jackson–is paramount.
