The Broncos have had a lot of success this season in their run game. According to Denver's star running back Melvin Gordon, this is all thanks to the power duo of him and Javonte Williams. He spoke to the media on Thursday, which was streamed live on the Broncos twitter account.

Gordon was back on the practice field for the first time in over a week on Wednesday. Both Wednesday and Thursday, the running back was limited in practice, coming back from a hip injury that forced him to miss Week 13. Fortunately, the Broncos were able to utilize the other half of the duo in Williams, who had 102 rushing yards in Sunday's game.

Gordon explained the dynamic of himself and Williams in the Broncos backfield, and how they are both “number ones.” He revealed that since the beginning of the season, the two have had a pretty even amount of opportunities. Gordon also said that, if either him or Williams didn't have to share their carries, they could easily be in the top five rushing.

“We've been splitting the ball down the middle…just think of the yards me and him both have put together and just put it into one player…Either one of us right now, if we didn't have each other, would probably be top five in rushing.”

In total, the running backs have 1,275 rushing yards, which would put the Broncos duo in second place for rushing. Jonathan Taylor is dominating in that department with 1,348 yards. Currently behind him is Joe Mixon with 978 and Derrick Henry with 937.
