The Denver Broncos have a pivotal offseason ahead of them. They have long been known as one of the top organizations in the league, but their reputation has taken a hit in recent years with rampant dysfunction. They fired Vance Joseph after back-to-back losing seasons, and are rolling with Vic Fangio to usher them into a new era.

They need to start winning, and start winning soon. To do so, they'll need to nail this upcoming draft. They've shown an interest in the top quarterbacks in the draft, and could take one with the tenth overall pick. They also need to bolster their offensive line, and they recently met with Kansas State offensive tackle Dalton Risner.

Risner grew up in Colorado and was a Broncos fan, so he said he would love to be drafted by Denver in a recent interview with Darren McKee and Chad Brown of 104.3 the FAN.

“I would be honored to be part of a program like that and play for the coaching staff that I just met,” Risner said.

He also issued a playful warning to Broncos general manager John Elway about what might happen if Elway were to pass on him.

“I’ll keep my fingers crossed but at the end of the day wherever I end up, I know that I’m going to make the people behind me proud. I’m going to be able to put on that helmet and go play. And if it's not the Broncos, you know if I ever come visit, I’ll make John Elway wish that he drafted me, that’s for sure,” Risner cracked.

Risner is expected by many to go sometime late in the first round. If the Broncos want to draft the three-time first-team All-Big 12 selection, they might need to trade back up into the first round, as he might not be available when they pick again at 40th overall.
