Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay underwent surgery to repair a broken wrist back in December, a rather somber end to what was a spectacular rookie campaign.

Now, Lindsay says he is fully recovered from the injury and is happy to be back:

“It feels good,” Lindsay said of his wrist after practice Sunday, per Jon Heath of Broncos Wire. “I don’t even think about that anymore, honestly. It is 100 percent healed and so now I just focus on getting back into it. That was the first game back since the injury. It was exciting to get back there and get some rust off. I feel comfortable.”

Lindsay returned to game action in the Broncos' second preseason game last week, carrying the ball four times for 10 yards while catching one pass for nine yards.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Colorado, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Broncos as a free agent. He ended up being one heck of a steal, racking up 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground while averaging 5.4 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 35 receptions for 241 yards and a score, earning a Pro Bowl selection.

Still, in spite of his impressive rookie year, the general consensus is that Denver will cut back on Lindsay's touches this coming season and will focus more of the attention on fellow second-year back Royce Freeman, whom the Broncos drafted in the third round last spring.

Denver is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which it won just six games.
