The Denver Broncos are still looking for their first win of the 2020 NFL season in Week 4 against the New York Jets. Fortunately, it appears the short week may not hinder running back Phillip Lindsay's potential availability.

The Broncos are optimistic Lindsay could make his return and is currently listed as questionable for the road trip to New York, via Aric DiLalla of the team's website:

Running back Phillip Lindsay could make his return to the field Thursday, as he is officially listed as questionable for a prime-time game against the Jets.

Lindsay has been sidelined with a foot injury he suffered during the season opener. His return would give this Broncos' offense another option to work with in their favorable matchup versus a Jets team that is also without a win this season.

Lindsay's absence over the last two games allowed Melvin Gordon to handle workhorse duties in the backfield while Royce Freeman served as a complementary option. Gordon took advantage in Week 2 when he registered 84 scrimmage yards and a touchdown, however, he failed to follow it up during the one-sided loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the weekend.

Even if Lindsay plays, head coach Vic Fangio has already indicated that he will be on a snap count as part of the team's efforts to ease him back into the rotation. This could be Gordon's last chance to carry the load on offense and he could not ask for a more ideal matchup given the Jets are allowing the ninth-most rushing yards per game (133.0) so far this season.
