Houston Texans wide receiver Demaryius Thomas recently went off on his former team, the Denver Broncos, and particularly general manager John Elway and head coach Vance Joseph for how they handled his trade away from the team.

When asked about Thomas’ harsh comments, Joseph said he was “disappointed” by them and told the former Broncos wideout to “move on.”

“He's got to move on. We've got to move on,” Joseph said per Jeff Legwold of ESPN. “He's no longer a Bronco, and I can't spend any time worrying about that. But as far as reading that stuff, I'm disappointed it was presented that way, I really am.”

Thomas alleged that he was misled by the team about the possibility of him being traded. He was also upset by the fact that he was not made a captain this season and that he was the only wide receiver who was told his playing time would be reduced to give more snaps to rookies Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton.

Joseph countered Thomas’ captaincy gripe by saying the players were the ones who voted for their captains. He also didn’t recall their discussion about the trade going down as Thomas said. Thomas claims Joseph said not to believe the trade rumors and that he wouldn’t be dealt.

It probably is in Thomas’ best interest to put the past behind him as Joseph suggests and focus on his new team. But based on the emotion from Thomas’ recent comments, it might take some time before he’s actually ready to move on from his unpleasant departure in Denver.
