The Denver Broncos defense really struggled to put pressure on Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, and after rewatching the game, coach Vic Fangio knows why.

All offseason the talk around the Broncos is about how impressive Von Miller and Bradley Chubb have looked getting after the passer, but on Monday night no one even recorded a sack or a hit on Carr.

Instead, Carr had no issue moving the ball against the Broncos defense completing 22-of-26 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown.

Fangio said that it was a good gameplan by the Raiders who were getting the ball quickly out of Carr's hand and that led to the lack of pass rush.

“They were getting it out quick, that was the main reason,” Fangio said, via Andrew Mason of the team’s website.

The sign of a good head coach is making adjustments on the fly, and it's something that Fangio is going to need to do this week heading into the game against the Chicago Bears.

The Raiders gave a very good gameplan to the Bears on how to limit the pass rush of the Broncos, and now the question is how do the Broncos make the changes to have more success.

It's clear the first week's gameplan didn't work, and if they try to do the same thing in Week 2, it probably won't work again.

Miller and Chubb are elite talents and getting the most out of them is job number one for Fangio this season if the Broncos want to have success.
