Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller remains optimistic that he can make a return on the field sooner than later. It was originally feared that Miller’s ankle injury, which he suffered prior to the season opener, would be season-ending but he continues to put his hopes up for a return in the latter stages of the season.

Via Michael Spencer of CBS Denver:

“My ankle is feeling good. I’m straight. Hopefully a couple of weeks. Thinking about like three weeks to a month, I should be ready to go” said Miller prior to his Instagram live video with U.S. Senator Cory Booker.

Von Miller sustained the injury during a practice in Week 1 prior to their opening game against the Tennessee Titans. The injury occurred on the last play of the session that was being held indoors due to the blizzard hitting the area at the time. Broncos players weren't in full pads and it is believed that Miller was injured on his own.

The Texas A&M product was set to enter his 10th year in the league where he is expected to form a pass-rushing duo opposite of fellow linebacker Bradley Chubb, who missed the bulk of the 2019 NFL season due to a torn ACL injury.

The Broncos have struggled mightily in their campaign this season without him at the helm along with a flurry of injuries to their other players. Initially projected to give the Kansas City Chiefs a run for their money in 2020, things went south to which the Broncos find themselves with a 3-4 record to place third in the AFC West instead.

Mile High will hope to have Miller back on the field as soon as possible to help salvage a season from going down the drain for them. They will face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9 as they aim to snag their fourth win of the season.
