After it was initially reported that Denver Broncos All-Pro pass rusher Von Miller suffered a significant lower-leg injury as a result of Tuesday's practice, it now appears that season-ending surgery will be needed in order to repair the damage, according to a recent report from Adam Schefter of ESPN.

With Miller reportedly injuring “a tendon in his ankle,” such a setback was apparently suffered on the very last play of practice on Tuesday.

With Week 1 of the 2020 regular season now less than a week away, Miller unfortunately won't even see the field for a Broncos team that is definitely looking to compete this time around. With Miller now out of the picture for the entire season, the Broncos will be forced to take on the dangerous Tennessee Titans on “Monday Night Football” without the team's best all-around player—which is obviously a less than ideal way to start a new campaign.

Adding to the tough times in Denver, fellow Broncos pass rusher Bradley Chubb is expected to start the season slowly as he eases his way back from a serious leg injury of his own. Missing almost the entire season in 2019, Chubb will now be forced to take on a much heavier workload whenever it is that he is back to full health as the absence of Miller cannot be overstated for this Broncos team.

If Miller is lost for the season and Chubb can't get going for a few weeks, the Broncos will suffer mightily up front, which was once a major strength of this team.
