The Denver Broncos finalized a trade to send wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday, ending his six-year run in the Mile High City.

Outside linebacker Von Miller appeared to take a subtle jab at Sanders on Thursday, saying that he wants to play with players that want to wear the Broncos uniform (via Ryan O'Halloran of the Denver Post):

“It’s part of the business,” Miller said before practice Thursday. “It was best for Emmanuel and it was best for the team. We’re going through a tough patch here (at 2-5). We want to get it right. We want people that want to get it right with us. We want people who want to be Broncos. We have a really good roster of young players. We get (outside linebacker Bradley) Chubb back next year.

“We’re going to get it right.”

Sanders developed into an All-Pro receiver in 2014 with Peyton Manning under center, and he would go on to post three consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns between 2014 and 2016. However, Sanders also missed eight games over the course of the last two years.

He did defy the odds to return well ahead of schedule after suffering an Achilles injury in December, but Sanders had just 30 receptions in the team's first seven games and has voiced his frustration.

Meanwhile, Miller has struggled to rush the passer. The veteran All-Pro has just 2 1/2 sacks and seven QB hits this year, two numbers that fall below the expected totals at this point in the season.

Despite Miller's relative lack of production, the Broncos are still one of the top defensive units in football in terms of DVOA. But the offensive woes have led to a 2-5 start, and ultimately pushed Sanders out of town.
