Von Miller wants to become an even greater player than he already is.

The Denver Broncos' outside linebacker said that he's added 10 pounds in the offseason, pushing his weight up to 245 pounds.

Here's what Miller had to say to Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Post:

“It’s when you get locked up with an offensive lineman and wherever you’re able to go with that,” Miller said. “At 245, you can go just a little bit further with that. So 245 is where I wanted to be at.”

There have been many instances on all NFL teams where undersized linebackers struggle to shed the blocks of the offensive linemen. Deone Bucannon was benched for a good part of the 2018 season with the Cardinals and Rams' Mark Barron struggled as well.

Weight does matter, and Miller plans to take into consideration his health a lot more seriously in preparation of learning under his new head coach Vic Fangio.

“I wanted to really focus on my nutrition and working out,” Miller said. “Really stack days and get my body weight back up to where it’s supposed to be. I feel like I did that up until this point.”

He played at 236 pounds with the Broncos in the 2015 Super Bowl run, and his weight wasn't much different last season.

Miller was ranked the fourth-best edge rusher last season by Pro Football Focus with a 90.3 grade. He had 48 tackles, 14.5 sacks, an interception, and four forced fumbles. In his career thus far, has 443 tackles, 98 sacks, two interceptions, and 25 forced fumbles.

He's already one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. If the added weight makes him even better, he could be in for an NFL record season in 2019.
