Although the Denver Broncos may be in the midst of some significant offseason changes, it seems linebacker Von Miller still has high expectations for himself in the 2019 NFL season.

Miller has long been considered one of the NFL's premier pass-rushers. According to video from Troy Renck of Denver7, he is hoping a 20-sack season will put him in line to break the league's all-time sack record:

“It’s something having 98 sacks going into year nine, it’s a good place to be,” Miller said. “This is one of my lofty goals that I have for my career. The goal this year is just to hit that 20-sack mark. If I can get that, that will put me way ahead of the pace.”

There is no question that Miller is more than capable of reaching the 20-sack mark. His best year came in 2012 when he registered 18.5 sacks. He certainly has not slowed down with age after recording 14.5 last year. While he is no spring chicken, the veteran still has more than enough in the tank to put up big numbers this season.

It is safe to say that the arrival of head coach Vic Fangio has Miller feeling optimistic about his chances at a record accomplishment. He helped fellow edge rusher Khalil Mack justify his lucrative payday with the Chicago Bears last season. Fangio's success with Mack and linebacker Roquan Smith has resonated with Miller and linebacker Bradley Chubb.

The 30-year-old has a long way to go if he hopes to catch the 200-mark left by Bruce Smith. Potentially surpassing Michael Strahan's single-season total of 22.5 sacks would undoubtedly go a long way in his journey to the top.
