The issues the Denver Broncos face are many. Inept quarterback play, a first-year head coach in Vance Joseph needing to adjust, a defense aging quickly, and so much more. Few have, however, considered Mike McCoy the problem.

That is until now.

As John Elway claims his players to have gotten soft, with Brandon Marshall saying it is about poor execution, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media makes the case for blame to go to McCoy.

Mike McCoy, who returned to the team this year after a stint as head coach of the Chargers, is apparently the man who is at fault. The playbook, per Rapoport, is unwieldy, with play-calling an issue.

Maybe what Rapoport claims is partially true, but the context can't be ignored. It doesn't really matter what plays McCoy is dialing up, as his quarterback position is a debacle at the moment.

This news shouldn't come as a shocker, though. Denver appears to be looking for a fall guy of sorts. As mentioned, Elway recently called his own players soft. That's a great way to deflect accountability, but poor at building excitement within the locker room.

Vance Joseph, to his credit, has already said that the blame should go to him. He is the head coach, after all.

Who do you guys think is to blame for the Broncos quickly becoming the opposite of good?

Is Elway right about the team being soft? Is Marshall correct that it's about poor execution? Is McCoy the issue? Or maybe, and just hear me out here, is it due to the awful play at the QB spot?
