The Denver Broncos have long been interested in Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and according to latest reports, he's the top choice for their vacant head coaching job.

As Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports shared, “there is a growing expectation that he [Quinn] will be the candidate to beat for that opening.”

It remains to be seen, however, if the Broncos will be able to land Quinn in their search for Vic Fangio's replacement. After all, they are in no way the only team interested in Quinn–who has impressed the NFL world with his work on the Cowboys' defense this 2021 season.

The likes of the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings are also said to have some level of interest on Quinn, and for good reason. The former Atlanta Falcons tactician transformed the Cowboys into one of the best defenses in the NFL, so it's not surprising he is a top candidate for another head coaching gig this time around.

The Broncos have already requested permission to interview Dan Quinn, but it remains to be seen when it will happen with the Cowboys focusing on their work in the postseason. Dallas is set to face the San Francisco 49ers in Wild Card weekend.

For now, Denver has a lot of work to do to fix their team after another failed season. It is also worth watching if they will indeed hire a defensive coach again or focus on getting an offensive mastermind as that is what some fans believe they are lacking.
