Free agent safety Adrian Amos may want to remain with the Chicago Bears, but that won't stop other teams from calling.

The Denver Broncos will be one of those teams, according to Broncos writer Nick Kendell, who says he expects Amos to be the main target for new head coach Vic Fangio.

This does not come as much of a surprise, as Fangio had coached Amos as the Bears' defensive coordinator throughout Amos' entire four-year NFL career.

This past season, Amos started all 16 games for Chicago, finishing with 73 tackles, a sack, two interceptions, a fumble recovery, and nine passes defended.

Amos, who played his collegiate football at Penn State University, was originally selected by the Bears in the fifth round (142nd pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He immediately started all 16 contests during his rookie campaign, totaling 67 tackles and a sack.

The following year, the 25-year-old accumulated 62 stops, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and four passes defended, and in 2017, Amos racked up 67 tackles, a pick, a fumble recovery, three passes defended, and a defensive touchdown.

The Broncos are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they won just six games, marking the first time since 1972 that the franchise posted back-to-back losing seasons, a truly remarkable feat.

Denver's lack of success the past two years resulted in the firing of head coach Vance Joseph.

The Broncos have now missed the playoffs three years in a row after making five straight postseason appearances between 2011 and 2015, culminating in a Super Bowl title in what was also Peyton Manning's final season.
