The search for a franchise quarterback continues for the Denver Broncos. The team is still looking for Peyton Manning's successor in Denver with the three quarterbacks they've brought in over the last few years simply not cutting it under center leaving John Elway with no choice but to keep looking for other options.

Last season, Trevor Siemian was thought to be the team's answer to their problems at the quarterback position after he beat out Paxton Lynch for the starting gig in training camp. Unfortunately, Siemian dealt with injuries while also having underwhelming results when given the opportunity to lead this team and now it appears he's on the trading block, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Although Siemian won't bring back much in return in a trade, the team has to make some room while potentially getting some compensation. Denver will almost certainly select a quarterback with their fifth overall pick in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft and are expected to be one of the favorites to land Kirk Cousins in NFL free agency.

With that being said, trading Siemian, if they are able to do so, seems like a step in the right direction as this team tries to get it right at quarterback. Siemian threw for 2,285 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions this past season. It seems as though Northwestern product could be headed for a career as a backup in the NFL unless he's given an opportunity elsewhere in the league to start over as the No. 1 option under center.

Along with Siemian, the futures of Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler also remain uncertain in Denver. The team may simply part ways with Osweiler after he failed to prove his worth in his second stint with the team while Lynch could continue to be a backup with the Broncos as they may have not entirely given up on the former first-round draft pick as of yet.
