The Cleveland Browns literally just reinserted DeShone Kizer back into being the team's starting quarterback. On Sunday, because Browns, the rookie quarterback was once again benched by Hue Jackson.

Cody Kessler was inserted in his place.

Let's make something abundantly clear about this benching: Whatever woes Cleveland has had on offense has almost no direct connection to the quarterback position (no matter who is playing it).

Between several offensive penalties happening all the time, to receivers dropping the football like a cellular telephone, to the offensive line being awful, all of the issues are happening ALONGSIDE the quarterback spot.

A supposed whisperer of quarterbacks, Jackson should probably be allowing his rookie QB to grow through this learning mistakes. Instead, each and every time the offense fails, Jackson pulls a trick out of the Brian Kelly playbook — not so politely hurling DeShone Kizer under the bus.

If you are a fan of the Browns — first off, sorry — it has to be infuriating that the team can't just let the rookie ride it out. Since the rest of the roster is a disaster, the franchise — in both the long and short-term — are best served finding out if Kizer is the future.

The franchise will not be able to find that out if Jackson keeps sending the kid to the sideline.

Yes. Yes. I get it. Kizer hasn't been great this season, but save for the few exceptions to the rule, most rookie gunslingers make oodles of mistakes.

Ugh. Whatever. Fire Hue Jackson.
