The 2019 NFL season did not go quite as planned for the Cleveland Browns. Fortunately, wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are still optimistic about a potential resurgence this offseason.

The Browns have brought in a new regime with head coach Kevin Stefanski following a successful stint as the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator. According to Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram, offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt is looking forward to getting to work with his new Pro Bowl wideouts:

“They're fired up. And I'm definitely excited.”

Although bold offseason predictions did not work out so well last time, Van Pelt was not shy about expressing his high expectations for the offense in the 2020 NFL season.

“I feel like we can have a very explosive offense.”

Cleveland made headlines with the acquisition of Beckham last offseason and they did not hesitate to welcome the Super Bowl expectations that came with their new star-studded roster. Of course, it quickly became evident that this team was still far from a finished product and they fell vastly short of living up to the hype that they had generated.

Regardless, the Browns still boast one of the most talented teams in the league with a Pro Bowl talent across the board, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. Since Landry still managed to make his annual trip to Orlando, their biggest focus will be getting Beckham back to his status as one of the NFL's elite wide receivers.

Van Pelt has already acknowledged that any improvement on offense will need to begin up front with their offensive line. Getting quarterback Baker Mayfield back on track should help pay huge dividends for Beckham's production in the 2020 NFL season.
