When the Cleveland Browns traded away Josh Gordon they were hoping rookie Antonio Callaway would step up to the plate. He has had some struggles early in the season including a few drops and an offensive pass interference penalty. It's clear that Browns coach Hue Jackson is getting fed up with the rookie receiver and hinted that he could see fewer snaps in the next few weeks.

“Maybe not playing as many plays … will help him get to step back, take a look, take a blow come back and do it again,” Jackson said via Cleveland.com. “I like him. Obviously, he needs to start faster in games.

Jackson was asked what he needed to do better and Jackson stressed that he will get better with more practice and that they will still count on him during games.

“Just continue to practice,” Jackson said. “Some of this inconsistency comes with young players. We're going to have to depend on Antonio. He's going to have to make plays for us as we go. We're not going to shy away from that.”

If Callaway does get his snaps limited moving forward, it could mean more playing time for the team's other receivers down the depth chart, namely veteran Rod Streater or sixth-round pick Damion Ratley.

While Callaway might be getting his snaps cut another rookie in running back Nick Chubb is expected to get more playing time. Against the Raiders, Chubb only had three carries but he finished with 105 yards and two touchdowns.
