We have seen this movie before. You know, the one that features the Cleveland Browns making some big-time additions to their offense and everyone raving about all of the weapons they have?

The first iteration didn't go very well, as the Browns went just 6-10 in 2019 after bringing in names such as Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt to bolster an offense that already included Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb and David Njoku.

Now, Cleveland is adding tight end Austin Hooper to that group, as the Browns agreed to make him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history on Monday.

How Hooper will fit with Njoku, who is coming off of an injury-plagued season, will be interesting, but one thing is for sure: he is excited about the opportunity:

“Already having David in place there, just the ability to have both of us just create some different matchup problems for the defense and especially with the two monsters Cleveland already has on the outside, the four of us out there together we’ll be hard pressed to find a defense that could play man-to-man against all four of us across the board,” Hooper said on 92.3 The Fan.

Of course, whether Njoku is even on the roster once the 2020 campaign begins is a legitimate question, as there was some chatter earlier this offseason about the Browns potentially trading him, and that was before they signed Hooper, who added that he thinks the offense is scary “on paper.”

Regardless, it's hard to ignore all of the offensive talent Cleveland possesses, but being good on paper and actually being good on the field are two entirely different things, which the Browns found out the hard way this past year.
