Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has no love for former Browns head coach Hue Jackson.

Mayfield last saw Jackson—now an assistant on the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff—following Cleveland's 35-20 win over the Bengals back on Nov. 25.

Mayfield declined a hug from Jackson after the game was over, instead giving Jackson an abrupt handshake.

Following the exchange, Mayfield called Jackson a “fake,” and he does not regret his words at all, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com:

“No, I said what I said,’’ said Mayfield. “It’s another week. We have to hit the reset button. We have to be able to come in, be able to block out the distractions, block out the outside noise like we have week to week every time this season and be able to do our job.”

The Browns have flourished since the firing of Jackson, going 4-2 and vaulting themselves into playoff contention ever since Gregg Williams took over as head coach.

Cleveland is set to host Cincinnati on Sunday, but Mayfield doesn't feel his team will have any extra motivation in Jackson's presence:

“No. I think the guys know what we want to do to finish out the year,’’ he said. “Right now, the goal is to beat the Bengals because that’s the next game. That is the most important one of the year. That is how we have to handle it.”

The Browns are coming off of an impressive win over the Denver Broncos to improve to 6-7-1. They need a whole lot to happen to reach the playoffs, but the first thing they need to do is beat the Bengals this weekend.
