It has been a couple of days since the Cleveland Browns decided to make former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft. This move has already been met some criticism given the team could have snagged USC's Sam Darnold with the pick as he was long viewed to be the top prospect at the position.

Despite this level of pushback, Mayfield has already voiced no concern with that chatter as he recently told TMZ Sports that everyone can have their own stance on his selection.

As for Jim Brown and other critics who wanted Cleveland to take Saquon Barkley or any of the other top QBs instead … Mayfield doesn't seem too bothered — telling us, “Everybody has their opinions. They're entitled to it.”

Throughout his collegiate career, Mayfield has heard his fair share of critics for various reasons both on and off the field. Much of this has been centered on his questionable decision making and sometimes arrogant personality that doesn't rub many the right way. It has built a strong level of perception around the type of person that Mayfield beyond just the talent that he has on the field.

This next chapter of his football career is a fresh chance for him to make a name for himself as NFL quarterback. Mayfield's work on the field has put him in the position to possibly become the next franchise cornerstone under center for the Browns and prove his doubters wrong. He has shown to be an accurate passer that can lead his team to success with his arm.

In essence, it's all on his shoulders to show that he is worthy of being a No. 1 overall pick that can alter future of the Browns' that the franchise clearly believes he can achieve by taking that chance.
