Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is nursing a hip injury, but he practice on Monday and looks like he should be ready for his team's pivotal Week 8 clash against the New England Patriots next Sunday.

“I thought he looked good today,” said Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens, according to Keith Britton of 92.3 The Fan. “Focused. Moved around well. He’s good to go.”

Cleveland will enter its showdown with the Patriots in desperate need of a win, as it was most recently seen blowing a 20-6 lead in a 32-28 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6.

The defeat dropped the Browns to 2-4 on the year, and now, with the Baltimore Ravens sitting at 5-2 and in first place in the AFC North, Mayfield and Co. may be playing for their season when they head to Foxborough.

In order for Cleveland to upset New England, Mayfield must play a heck of a lot better.

The second-year signal-caller has thrown for 1,496 yards, five touchdowns and an NFL-worst 11 interceptions while completing just 56.6 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 66 thus far.

Mayfield has thrown an interception in every game this season, and he has yet to have a week where he threw more touchdowns than picks.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was originally selected by the Browns with the first overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He took the league by storm during his first season, setting a rookie record with 27 touchdown passes.

Unfortunately for the Browns, Mayfield's play in 2019 has been a far cry from what he did a year ago.
