The Green Bay Packers edged out the Cleveland Browns in what turned out to be an entertaining Christmas Day matchup between these two sides. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were able to hold off the Browns, 24-22, and it was thanks in large part to Baker Mayfield's poor performance on the evening.

Mayfield, who cleared COVID protocols just in time for Saturday's contest, threw no less than four interceptions throughout the game, which unsurprisingly, the Packers took full advantage of. After the match, Mayfield got brutally honest about his unacceptable play and how it led to the Browns losing on Christmas Day (h/t Jake Trotter of ESPN):

“It's just frustrating,” Mayfield said. “I don't think it was anything preparations-wise mentally. It was just (bad) throws. Uncharacteristic. I hurt this team, that's the most frustrating team for me.”

The Packers actually built a significant lead over the Browns in the first half, but Cleveland somehow crawled their way back to make a ballgame out of this. Unfortunately for them, Mayfield was unable to step it up when it mattered most. On top of his four interceptions, the 26-year-old QB also suffered a handful of sacks that ultimately led to the Packers emerging victorious in the matchup.

This loss for Mayfield and the Browns serves as a significant blow for their playoff aspirations this season. Now at 7-8, Cleveland will need to get some help from opposing teams if they are to secure a postseason berth. The Browns return to action in Week 17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
