Baker Mayfield had another terrible day at work after throwing picks on the way to an awful overtime loss for the Cleveland Browns. His worries aren't just limited to his on-field performances, though, as he's now nursing an injury of his own.

He talked about his injury to the press after their overtime defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. While he did admit that it was bothering him the entire game, Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams wrote that Mayfield didn't excuse his poor performance because of it.

“A little bit, but that is not an excuse,” Mayfield said when asked if his hip affected his play. “It hurts, but it’s a physical game of football.”

Despite the injury, he clarified that he didn't want to get off the field and fought to stay in the game. He said that he didn't even think about leaving the game despite his hip feeling a bit soft.

However, he should have considered not forcing the situation. After all, he threw three interceptions that could have helped the team cement an upset over the Seahawks. Thanks to those three picks, he's now standing at 11 interceptions in only six games. He's made more interceptions than touchdowns, and he's easily on track to end the season with more interceptions this season compared to his rookie tally of 14.

Mayfield was also vocal about his frustrations, even blaming the referees for the loss. However, it cannot be denied that he's part of the problems for the Browns at the moment. If he wants things to change, he must improve his game and get back to full health. And he has a match against the Patriots to prove that his rookie campaign wasn't a fluke.
