The Cleveland Browns will interview former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo to be their offensive coordinator on Tuesday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.

McAdoo was fired by the Giants in the middle of his second season as head coach after compiling a disappointing 2-10 record. He went 13-15 in his 28 games in charge of the Giants.

Prior to getting the Giants’ head coaching job in 2016, McAdoo served as the team’s offensive coordinator from 2014-15. He also spent seven years as a coach for the Green Bay Packers, where he worked with current Browns general manager John Dorsey.

The Browns have also expressed interest in interviewing recently fired Titans coach Mike Mularkey for the offensive coordinator role. Head coach and de facto offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is reportedly willing to cede play-calling duties to an experienced coordinator like Mularkey.

The Browns just recently hired a former member of McAdoo’s Giants staff in Adam Henry, who will take over as the team’s new wide receivers coach.

Jackson has served as the offensive play-caller ever since arriving in Cleveland in 2016. But after the Browns’ disastrous 0-16 season, he finally appears willing to make some drastic changes to turn the franchise’s depressing fortunes around.

However, it remains to be seen whether McAdoo is the right person for the job. The Giants were mediocre to slightly below average offensively in his four years as an offensive coordinator and head coach, when he was also the play-caller. And with no Odell Beckham Jr. to lean on in Cleveland, McAdoo may struggle to find much success.
