Usually, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles doesn't play in NFL games where he is generally viewed as the better signal-caller, so we understand if he’s feeling a little bit high and mighty heading into his showdown with Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback, DeShone Kizer.

When asked about his thought going into the matchup, Bortles offered some simple advice for the Browns’ quarterback.

From Jaguars beat writer, Mike Kaye:

We’re surprised Bortles wasn’t hit by a lightning bolt right after finishing that sentence, because it’s exactly the words tortured Jaguars fans at home have screamed at their TVs every week since he became the team’s starter in 2014.

The Jags’ quarterback has been much maligned throughout his career, mostly because of his propensity for throwing picks. He has yet to finish a season without recording at least 16 picks. He’s not on pace to hit 16 interceptions this season, but he already has seven picks against only 11 touchdowns through nine starts this year.

However, what Bortles said was also a fair warning for Kizer and the winless Browns. The Jaguars have one of the nastiest secondaries in the league today, and thanks to that unit, Jacksonville is among the leaders in interceptions with 11. Jacksonville is also No. 1 in pass defense, allowing just 165.1 passing yards per game.
