After their trades for quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jarvis Landry, the Cleveland Browns continued their revamping of the offense this offseason by landing veteran running back Carlos Hyde in free agency. That move raised some questions as to what the Browns would do in the draft since they have been linked with taking running back Saquon Barkley.

Browns general manager John Dorsey finally addressed those questions by saying that Hyde’s arrival doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility of them still picking Barkley.

“Not necessarily,” Dorsey said per Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. “You can't have enough good football players. With Carlos, I have always liked what he does. I think he is built to play the Cleveland Browns' style of running game. The draft is so far down the road. We are just at the second phase of that as we get closer to the spring workouts and we get everybody back in that room together and just finalize our draft board. That is to be determined down the road.”

There shouldn't be anything all that surprising about Dorsey's answer. It’s in his best interest to keep all his options open, especially with the draft still a significant time away. He’s obviously not going to rule out a player and tip his hand to other teams.

Barkley is clearly a very good prospect – arguably the best in the entire draft class – and as Dorsey says, you can’t have enough good football players. It won’t be the worst or the most surprising thing in the world if the Browns end up taking him even though they already have Hyde and Duke Johnson in their backfield. However, the Browns still have a long time between now and the draft to decide what they actually want to do.
