Going into the season, tight end David Njoku was expected to be a big part of the Cleveland Browns' offense. Unfortunately, he suffered a wrist injury in Week 2 that landed him on the injured reserve list.

Now, Njoku is eligible to return, but the Browns have not yet decided if he will participate in their matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

“We have not made a decision on that,” head coach Freddie Kitchens told reporters on Wednesday, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “We have not even seen what he can do today so we will get him out there and see. If he can play two plays, that is not going to help us at all. We will see.”

In the two games he has played this season, Njoku has logged four catches for 37 yards and a touchdown.

The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Miami, was originally selected by Cleveland in the first round (29th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played in all 16 games during his rookie campaign, catching 32 passes for 386 yards and four scores. Then, last year, Njoku had a breakout season of sorts, once again appearing in every contest and hauling in 56 receptions for 639 yards while reaching the end zone four times.

Of course, the Browns went out and landed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and running back Kareem Hunt during the offseason, but Njoku was considered a crucial piece of the passing game going into 2019.

The Browns are just 4-6 thus far.
