The Cleveland Browns lost offensive tackle Jack Conklin early in their game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, and it looks like he could be out for long amid fears about the severity of his injury.

Conklin was carted from the sideline to the locker room in the Week 12 game after he sustained a knee injury in the opening quarter. According to a report from the Akron Beacon Journal, the Browns fear he suffered a torn patellar tendon.

Following the contest, head coach Kevin Stefanski didn't raise hopes about the condition of his All-Pro right tackle, noting that it could be a “serious” knee issue. However, he refrained from giving more comments until an MRI is done to confirm the extent of the injury.

“I don't know at this point. It was serious, but let's get the MRI to confirm that,” Stefanski said of Conklin's injury.

It's certainly a disappointing and frustrating development for the Browns and Jack Conklin, who just returned from a dislocated elbow after missing three games.

It remains to be seen how long the star tackle will miss given his injury, but it won't be surprising to see if he's ruled out for the season or at least for a significant time given the nature of the injury. For what it's worth, he tried to walk on his own before his knee bothered him–leading him to be carted off the sidelines.

The Browns lost the game to the Ravens 16-10, and if Conklin is sidelined once again, it deals a huge blow to their chances of turning around their fortunes in the last stage of the 2021 campaign.
