The Cleveland Browns reportedly hired Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski on Sunday. The 37-year-old coach was apparently the runner-up choice to Freddie Kitchens this time last year. He finally landed the Browns' top job after it opened up two weeks ago. Current Cleveland offensive coordinator Todd Monken is not expected to be involved in the future of the franchise, however.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Monken will unlikely work for the Browns under Stefanski, with “several college playcalling jobs” in the offensive coordinator's near future.

One year after hiring former quarterbacks coach Freddie Kitchens as the team's head coach, the Browns found themselves dismissing another man in charge of the team (this time due to failing to meet higher expectations for a team with Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr.). Cleveland did not appear enchanted by former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, who was quickly snagged by the Dallas Cowboys last week.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants hired New England Patriots wide receivers coach Joe Judge to fill their Pat Shurmur–sized hole and the Carolina Panthers hired Baylor University's Matt Rhule. Former Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels, who has been back with the Patriots as OC since 2012, is still out there as a top candidate for teams, although there are no more spots available after Cleveland hired Stefanski. Todd Monken must find his way through this maze.

Kevin Stefanski has been with the Vikings organization since 2006, where he has held nearly every title as a coach on offense. He has been the offensive coordinator since 2018 and before that the quarterbacks coach.
