Hue Jackson is still the Cleveland Browns head coach despite going an abysmal 1-31 in his first two years in charge. That’s a testament to the incredible amount of trust Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has placed in Jackson.

To be fair, Jackson didn’t exactly have a great group to work with during his first couple of years in charge in Cleveland. But after a busy offseason upgrading the roster, Haslam is “excited” about his head coach and believes everyone will finally get see the real Hue Jackson at work this year.

“I think we'll see the real Hue Jackson,” Jimmy Haslam said per Pat McManamon of ESPN. “Because he's got good quarterbacks. He's got some skill players. He's got a veteran offensive line now; we've got to figure out left tackle. Three really good [running] backs. Good defense.

“I think you've heard me say this several times: You got to give Hue credit for bringing in Todd Haley [as offensive coordinator], which I think will allow Hue to be the head coach,” Jimmy Haslam added. “So I think this will be the first opportunity Hue's had … to do what we know he can do as head coach, as a leader.”

General manager John Dorsey has been busy surrounding Jackson with players who can help the Browns get back to winning ways. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jarvis Landry were the team’s two most high-profile additions, but they’ve made significant changes all across the roster, particularly on defense.

But those changes have also brought more expectations for Jackson, who will have no more excuses if the Browns continue to struggle under his command. While Haslam has expressed his faith in Jackson to come good this season, the Browns owner may have no choice but to find a new head coach if Jackson fails to deliver.
